Champions League: onion Berlin snatches

Germany's onion Berlin scored its first point in the history of its participation in the Champions League football competition on Wednesday, drawing with host Napoli of Italy 1-1 in the fourth round of Group C.

The men of the Swiss coach Urs Fischer put an end to a series of 12 consecutive defeats and came out with a difficult draw with their defensive toughness with the champion of Italy.

Matteo Politano opened the scoring for Napoli (39), before Ivorian David Fofana equalized for Union Berlin (52).

But despite this draw, onion Berlin remained at the bottom of the standings of the third group, six points ahead of Napoli, who are in second place behind the leaders Real Madrid (9 points), who will later play with Portuguese Braga.

Napoli thought they had scored the first goal of the match when Portuguese Mario Rui turned an accidental cross from the left side into the heart of the penalty area, which captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo picked up and turned his head in front of the goal to be followed up by Cameroonian Andre Frank Anguissa with his head also in goal (30).

But the goal was soon canceled after resorting to the Video Assistant Referee (VAR), for a foul on Di Lorenzo (33).

Napoli returned the ball nine minutes later and from Roy's own cross, Politano turned it with his chest in the goal amid the inability of the Danish goalkeeper Frederic Rono to repel it, to lead the Italian champions with a clean goal (39).

Just before the end of the first half, Giacomo raspadori gifted the guests a free kick from the outskirts of the penalty area, but Croatian Josip juranovic's powerful shot hit the right post of goalkeeper Alex Merritt (45+7).

In the second half of the match, the German club appeared in a different way, after wasting a strangely achieved goal from Napoli, when the Georgian khvica Kvaratskhelia evaded the defense from the right side and converted a pass into the zone, the Polish Pyotr jelinski relented in shooting it, and then Politano returned and shot awkwardly to stop the French defender Jerome Roussillon and passed the ball long front to Fofana, who passed to the Surinamese sheraldo Baker, the latter shot and net (52).

Onion Berlin rose up after the goal, and almost added the second on more than one occasion, most notably in the 55th minute by Baker, to keep the tie the master of the situation.
