Meet our Week 1 Delaware Online Athlete of the Week
Congratulations to Bree Moffett of Smyrna field hockey, the Delaware Online Athlete of the Week for Week 1 of the fall season. The freshman scored three goals in her first varsity game, a 7-0 victory over Padua.

Delaware State comes out flat, but still tops Lynchburg
Things didn’t go as planned Saturday afternoon at Alumni Stadium, but Delaware State football head coach Rod Milstead still feels confident the Hornets can turn it around.
Normally that’s something a coach says in defeat, but Milstead was disappointed in the effort following a 35-19 win over Virginia University of Lynchburg, improving to 2-1 on the season.

Early season rankings: Top 43 players in Delaware high school field hockey
Delaware’s top high school field hockey coaches are smart.
They know who makes a difference in the big games, who is counted on to rip a shot on penalty corners, who is the most reliable at clearing away a scoring chance with a big defensive play.
They also know which players have expanded their games to compete successfully at the regional and national level.
So when we asked them to rank the top players going into the 2022 season, there were no surprises at the top.
But there also plenty of room for other players around the state, freshmen and other up and comers sure to make their mark as the season goes along.
