Writing, developmental editing, copyediting and proofreading content that helps to achieve marketing and communication goals (e.g.: awareness; reputation-building; improved organic rankings, email open rates, click-throughs, form submits, conversions) Integrating consistent messaging, voice and tone across all content assets, including bylined articles, presentations, press releases, web copy, blog posts, interactive content, marketing emails, and other marketing and communications materials Editing content to make it more compelling, interesting and enticing for readers Adapting editorial style to suit the various goals and types of content: editorial, marketing, promotions, advertising, reference, interactive and possibly others Optimizing online content for optimum SEO performance Using analytics programs to evaluate and improve content performance Participating in editorial planning meetings to conceptualize and execute innovative content pieces Creating, updating and managing project timelines Ensuring deadlines are met and team members are informed of current status and upcoming milestones for each project Scheduling and managing outside resources Coordinating editing, proofreading and fact-checking of assignments Updating and managing organization-wide style manual Updating and maintaining SEO best practices and content management system posting guidelines, and training internal clients and outside resources as needed Assisting the Managing Editor with press checks for annual Salary Guides and other printed pieces as needed Assisting the social media team with content creation as needed
