After I earned my Bachelor of Arts in English from Georgia State University, I decided to continue my study of English with a post-baccalaureate study of Secondary English Education. This post-baccalaureate study applied the skills necessary for teaching effectively to the study of English – teaching writing, grammar, reading comprehension and literature. I worked as a high school English teacher in Georgia and Louisiana before moving to South Carolina. I have since transitioned to working from home as an online writing tutor for Smarthinking (a division of Pearson). I also earned a Masters degree in Library Media. This degree taught me how to research effectively and synthesize information for patrons other than myself. I am highly organized and love to schedule my time to get things accomplished accordingly. I am detail-oriented and an excellent researcher. In my spare time, I enjoy reading anything and everything I can get my hands on, and writing on my personal blog about things I am learning from books and as a mom.
