"A recent British study suggests that drinking one cup of coffee daily can reduce the risk of liver cancer. The study was conducted by researchers at the University of Southampton in the UK and published its findings in the scientific journal British Medical Journal.

To uncover the relationship between coffee consumption and protection against #livercancer, the research team analyzed data from more than 26 studies involving over 2.25 million participants."

"The researchers monitored the number of cups of coffee individuals consumed daily and whether the coffee contained #caffeine or was decaffeinated.

The results demonstrated that individuals who drank one cup of coffee daily were 20% less likely to be at risk of developing liver cancer.

Furthermore, the researchers found that those who consumed at least two cups daily had a 35% reduced risk of liver cancer, while those who drank three cups daily saw their risk of liver cancer drop by 50%."

The research team also confirmed that decaffeinated coffee provides protection against liver cell cancer, although its effect is less pronounced than caffeinated coffee.

Regarding the reason for this, the researchers stated that coffee is rich in antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anticancer compounds. They added, 'Our results suggest a pivotal role of caffeine in liver cancer prevention, as decaffeinated coffee had a lesser impact on the disease.'

Previous studies have also revealed that coffee consumption may protect against #neurological diseases, including #Alzheimer's disease, and may inhibit the progression of several #cancerous tumors, such as #breast cancer and uterine lining cancer."

Studies have also linked regular coffee consumption to a reduced risk of liver fibrosis, particularly among patients infected with hepatitis C virus (HCV), who are more susceptible to liver function decline.
