Data entry is a large part of most customer service positions. You may need to collect a customer’s name, address, phone number or other information to verify her identity or account. You may also collect information to set up information about a new customer and provide her with pricing, product, shipment and distribution information. You may also need to document information about your customer interaction, including leaving notes for the next customer service representative who speaks with the customer.
