I create web applications for clients that need to collect and manage data, which essentially means 'web forms' and 'web reports'. The platform I use is based on genuine open source software: no license fees/no 'per user' fees, works in any web browser, and is in the 'No-Code/Low-Code' category, including the built-in databases (so not an 'external plug-in). It's based on a common framework: php/MariaDB/Smarty/jQuery/Laminas /Bootstrap.
'No-Code/Low-Code' category of software means clients can also learn to grow and develop their site independently. The platform deployed has an extremely large amount of built-in 'Features' (not 3rd party), with some of the core features being:
- Databases, Calendar, File Exchange, Blog, Forum, Automation Tools, Admin Tools, etc.
In total, there are just under 300 internal 'widgets', so more than enough for almost all sizes of organizations to create and do most anything. Think 'Wordpress' but with everything built-in, so you are not at the mercy of each individual 'plugin' creator ;-)
However the biggest benefit of using a platform is 'ease of integration' with other future apps. So when I build for you, or you decide to build a few apps for yourself, they can easily be integrated with each other (Disclaimer: it does take practice, just like MS Excel or any software, to create efficient apps - poorly thought out or designed apps will not integrate well).
