My Developmental Editing offers concentration with the intent, structure, focus and content of your book or play. It also involves looking for inconsistent tone, character development, storyline progression, or an unclear audience. It also incorporates line editing services, where attention is paid to sentence structure, paragraph building, the use of proper or substantive words and phrases. I also keep an eye on the proper use of attribution, source identification and related matters. While it does involve some spelling and grammatical checking – proofreading is not in the scope of my services. I am able to work in fiction, non-fiction, Christian, inspirational and playwriting.
