Eng-Chinese/Ch-English Translator

$10/hr Starting at $50

My name is Chloe, I am currently a final year law student. Being a law student I am no doubt a voluminous reader, which eventually led me to having a touch of two different languages with ease. This is partly due to the unique background of my nationality-- I am a Malaysian, yet an ethnic Chinese at the same time. Having that said, I grew up in an environment speaking three languages and two dialects: English, Mandarin Chinese, Malay, as well as Cantonese and a bit of Hokkien. I can also read Cantonese (that is, Chinese Traditional) as I grew up on Hong Kong drama series and have read Hong Kong and Taiwanese newspapers since young. My English proficiency level has been certified by the International Competitions And Assessments For Schools, University of New South Wales, Australia; of which I was awarded a Distinction for the English Language. Thus till today I am fairly active in translation jobs; of which in the past I have done translations of Singaporean High Court and Court of Appeal judgments in light of China's Belt and Road Initiative, (“????”??????????- ???? “????”?????????? ????); translations of Chinese and Thai movie subtitles to English. I have also been involved with proofreading the English subtitles for the infamous "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon". Furthermore, I have been involved with the translation of Google Malaysia's outsourced press statements which were to be translated into Mandarin Chinese. Also, I have translated Alibaba Corporation's business and technical articles which featured topics of prominent Chinese App such as Alipay, Wechat and Youku. I am very flexible in deciding on the medium of workplace. Common medium I would use are Word (.doc), PDF, Google Docs but any other platforms you would like to use are welcome. Should you have any enquiries, please feel free to leave me a message!
