I have had a course in grant writing and am very interested in it, but I have not had anyone give me the opportunity to write one. I have a mentor to help me, one who has won millions for the nonprofits with which she works. All I need is the opportunity. The key to successful grant writing is to follow the directions exactly and have a good focus of what you are requesting. Many grant writers are turned down simply by not adhering to these. My past work has been detailed and tedious, involving research, and following precise rules, so this is not difficult for me. I would be a very cheap grant writer who has a vested interest in making a positive mark toward gaining experience in this field.
