WatchOS 10, also releasing on Monday, is touted as Apple's most significant Apple Watch update yet, introducing new features and widgets for compatible watches.
You can update your WatchOS in two ways. First, on your Apple Watch, navigate to Settings > General > Software Updates. Alternatively, you can update the software using your iPhone's Apple Watch app: Tap My Watch > General > Software Update to install the latest updates.
