I have an unusual background for a tech guru. Before entering the technology field, I studied theatre (Northwestern University ‘82) and International Relations (Johns Hopkins SAIS, ‘89). I have served as a nonprofit executive director, a writer and editor, and as a sales and marketing director. I think every technology initiative benefits from someone who gets tech, but not at the expense of getting people. My varied background enables me to bring a holistic understanding to organizational dynamics and the often-fraught human-tech interaction.
