If you're not ready for a full, in-depth edit, then a manuscript evaluation may suit you better. This is comparable to beta-reading in style—however, it is much more detailed. What I will do is I will read your manuscript, and I will compile a detailed report. This averages at around ten pages. In this report, I will comment on structure, narrative, plot and character development, as well as style and readability. Each point will be supported with reference to the manuscript, and I will comment directly onto the manuscript to highlight particular areas that I think need attention—or are particularly outstanding! I'll offer suggestions for changes and improvements moving forward, considering the manuscript as a whole. What I will not do is make changes to the manuscript itself. This service is particularly targeted at fiction manuscripts, though I may be able to work with non-fiction depending on the content and purpose.
