Multi-Media Designer

$55/hr Starting at $250

Nicole M. Alleyne is an American multi-media designer. The scope of her work includes print, interactive, web design/development and photography. At the age of 18, and with the support of her mother, Nicole's desire for creative expression led her to attend The School of The Art Institute of Chicago. At that time, her intention was to pursue a career in photography. But exposure to mixed media, art history and digital technology soon changed her mind as to how she would approach and produce her art. During her time in Chicago, she was fortunate to spend a semester at Central St. Martin's School of Art and Design, where she was involved in various community projects that addressed cultural tolerance through the use of mixed-media. With a move to New York in 1998, graphic design opportunities with Verizon and Advanstar Communications offered her the professional experience to move on and grow as an Art Director for the Travel Group at Questex Media. Making the decision to continue her education, Nicole attended New York University where she focused on Interactive Media and Caribbean studies at the Gallatin School for Individualized Study. In 2009, she took a hiatus from the economic instability in the U.S. and made Trinidad & Tobago her temporary home. Once there, a Creative Direction opportunity with Basia Magazine presented itself. Digital freelance assignments with several travel authorities including Jamaica, Grenada and the Dominican Republic also developed. Her work continues to circulate throughout the Caribbean region. In 2014, she accepted an adjunct faculty position at The Fashion Institute of Technology, Communications Dept. Nicole currently works and resides in New York City.
