In a shocking and tragic incident, a video clip revealed, by chance, the last moments experienced by the passengers of the Nepalese plane that crashed, killing most of those on board.

According to ndtv, the phone recovered from the wreckage of the Yeti Airlines flight that crashed in Nepal, Sunday, captured the terrifying final moments of the flight.

A twin-engine ATR 72 from Kathmandu - carrying 72 people - crashed shortly before landing in Pokhara, a major tourist destination in the Himalayan country, killing at least 68 people.

The plane was on a flight from Kathmandu to the tourist city of Pokhara minutes before it landed, and there were 72 people on board, including 68 passengers, including 15 foreigners and 4 crew members, including 3 infants and 3 children.

The video clip, which was circulating on social media, began with footage of passengers sitting inside the plane and the city below seen from the window as the plane circled before landing.

Suddenly there is an explosion and the screen is upside down, the last few seconds show a terrible fire outside the window and the screams of the stunned passengers can be heard.

The plane fell into the strait between the new international airport in Pokhara and the old domestic airport.

The black box of the crashed plane has been recovered by Nepalese authorities and is said to be in "good condition" and may help investigators determine what caused the twin-engine ATR 72 to crash in clear weather before landing in the tourist city of Pokhara.
