Petition to get Amber Heard cut from ‘Aquaman 2’ nears its 4.5M goalBy

The list has now reached 4.429 million signatures as of Wednesday morning — with the originally announced target set at 4.5 million.

The Change.org petition was created by fan Jeanne Larson in 2020: “Do the right thing. Remove Amber Heard from Aquaman 2,” she wrote in the list description.

Heard, 36, has been intertwined in a controversial court battle with her ex-husband Johnny Depp, 58.

The former couple have been at war in a Fairfax, Virginia, courtroom for a $50 million defamation trial. Depp is suing the “Stepfather” actress for alleging abuse in a 2018 Washington Post op-ed she penned. Heard is in turn countersuing her ex for $100 million.

The petition reached an astounding 3 million names in early May, around the time that it was reported that Heard was only getting about 10 minutes of screen time in the Warner Bros. sequel to the 2018 DC superhero flick “Aquaman.”

Meanwhile, Heard claimed during her testimony late last month that the studio “didn’t want to include me” and that she was “actively scheduling timing for filming” up until Depp’s supporters reportedly launched a campaign to get her axed from the flick.                                                                                                                                     Heard plays Princess Mera in the DC superhero films, the love interest of Aquaman himself, Jason Momoa.AP

“I was given a script and then given new versions of the script that had taken away scenes that had action in it, that depicted my character and another character, without giving any spoilers away, two characters fighting with one another, and they basically took a bunch out of my role,” she Heard said in her testimony. “They just removed a bunch out.”

Heard and Warner Bros. have not responded to The Post’s requests for comment about the petition.

However, other reports indicated that the mother of one was really almost fired from the action flick because of her lack of chemistry with costar and love interest Jason Momoa.

Heard’s WME agent, Jessica Kovacevic testified that in her opinion, Warner Bros. didn’t “want to hire someone who has bad press,” adding, “No one wants that association.”

Momoa, 42, allegedly advocated for Heard to keep her role in the sequel. Entertainment industry consultant and expert Kathryn Arnold shed some light on the matter during the court case
