Alana graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham May 2008 with a Bachelor’s in Mass Communications with an emphasis in PR. During her academic tenure, she worked with her fellow classmates to construct a campaign for a real life organization. She contributed feature articles designed to recruit volunteers, designed a logo to brand the campaign and constructed press releases She also interned at the Alabama Symphony Orchestra in Birmingham, AL during her junior and senior year. With the Director of Communications guiding her, Alana honed her writing skills. She assisted with ushering the ASO’s 11th season with the creation of the seasonal brochure, writing press releases promoting events, contributing articles to OPUS, the ASO publication and maintaining the official website. Throughout all of her experiences, Alana has learned how to manage her time effectively in a high stress environment while reaching target goals and maintaining excellent relationships.
