David Makacha has more than four years’ experience working in the media and communication industry, with particular focus on public relations and advertising. He is experienced in designing communication strategies, media relations, social media management and analytics, media monitoring and reports writing. Makacha possesses a Master of Arts in Public Relations from Michigan State University where he also graduated with an Outstanding Student Award and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Media studies from National University of Science and Technology (NUST) in Zimbabwe. Makacha is primarily interested in education and community development. As a young man with a passion for education and community development, Makacha, along with other former NUST students founded “NUST United Methodist Alumni” a voluntary association assisting secondary school children with school fees. Makacha is a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society. He has volunteered as an HIV and AIDS peer leader for the Student Partnership World Wide (SPW) in Zimbabwe and was a volunteer speaker at the Community Volunteers for International Programs (CVIP) at Michigan State University. His career interests include community development, communication with a bias towards social media and education.
