I hold a BA in translation (Arabic-English-French) since 1988. After completion of my post-graduate degree, I have been lecturing at the level of undergraduate and post-graduate studies in the area of Arabic and Islamic thought at the University of Melbourne for the last 12 years. I have also been a freelance translator for the last 20 years. Being a native Arab, and having worked for a considerable time in both the Arab and the Anglo-Saxon world, has enabled me to gain a high proficiency in both the English and the Arabic languages, and to be conversant with the cultures in which these languages are spoken. Several of my translations have appeared as book chapters in reputable publications and others have been included in refereed journals.
