I am a freelance science writer with 12 years’ experience in academic research. I have a PhD in Neuroscience from University of Porto, Portugal, and I have postdoctoral experience from Weill Cornell Medical College and The University of Western Ontario. I have significant experience in academic writing, with expertise in diverse fields within Neuroscience. I am the first author or co-author of 13 peer-reviewed papers and I am currently writing 2 more papers. Plus, I also authored two book chapters. I have been responsible for writing, editing, proofreading and literature review. I also have experience in writing abstracts for meetings and grants for funding applications. I am a native Portuguese speaker with top professional level English. I started to learn English when I was 10 years old and I have used it throughout my career. I have been living in North America for the last 5 years, therefore my grammar and vocabulary are excellent.
