Senior Translator, Editor & Interpreter

$5/hr Starting at $25

I am a senior Arabic Translator officially working with UN and other major international organisations. With over 15 years in the fields of translation, editing and interpreting - working mainly with renowned international organisations (mostly UN agencies) - I have always aimed at delivering a flawless end product; the result being continuous client satisfaction! I have a genuine passion for translation and believe that nothing is 'untranslatable'. One of my key strengths is that I am a 'native speaker' of both Arabic and English (a balanced bilingual), having grown up and lived in the UK for a significant portion of my life. Also having worked with a number of major organisations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), the Association for the Prevention of Torture (APT), the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), Transparency International (TI), Oxford University’s Refugee Studies Centre (RSC), the International Campaign to Ban Landmines (ICBL) and the European Commission (EC), I have accumulated extensive experience in the following areas of specialisation: human rights, development, health/medicine, politics, current affairs, journalism, media, general business, law, sociology, psychology, statistics, research, arts/humanities and education, among others. Examples of key UN documents I have single-handedly translated include: - Framework for a Public Health Emergency Operations Centre (WHO); - Implementing the Convention against Torture (CAT): sharing best practice and experience in preventing torture in police custody in the Middle East and North Africa (APT); - The World Health Report 2013 (WHO); - The Optional Protocol to the UN Convention against Torture: Implementation Manual (APT); - Preventing Torture: An Operational Guide for National Human Rights Institutions (APT); - Draft comprehensive mental health action plan 2013-2020: Report by the Secretariat (WHO); - International Health Regulations (2005): Toolkit for implementation in national legislation (WHO); - Meeting of the Strategic Advisory Group of Experts on immunization, April 2013 - conclusions and recommendations (WHO); - The European Report on Development (ERD) 2009 (ESN).
