I came to my greeting-card writing career as a poet and musician. I've written parodies, goofy voice-chip novelties, and music videos for product or brand marketing (see the R&B and folk-singing videos for Spirit Airlines as samples). I once sullied a Renaissance Festival with my Dirty Poems booth, incorporating intimate details from people's lives into rollicking doggerel for what ended up being about a nickel an hour. Verse-writing is as natural to me as leaves to a tree, to paraphrase John Keats. See, look at me drop the poet names!
