Stadium 974, one of the eight World Cup stadiums that Qatar recently built, bid farewell to the matches of the 2022 World Cup, which will end on the 18th of this month. Stadium 974 will be the first of its kind in the history of the World Cup tournaments and in the world to be completely dismantled and reshipped to one of Qatar's friendly countries that lacks sports infrastructure. Stadium 974 hosted 7 matches on its grounds, the last of which was yesterday evening between Brazil and South Korea in the round of 16 competitions of the “FIFA Qatar 2022” World Cup. Within days, the journey of completely dismantling the stadium will begin to be shipped outside Qatar, where Qatar will gift it to a friendly country, but the name of the country that will receive it has not yet been announced. According to the website of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, the capacity of the stadium before the matches was increased from 40,000 spectators to more than 44,000. Stadium 974 is located in the Ras Abu Aboud area, 10 km from the center of Doha, and this unique venue celebrates the maritime and commercial heritage of the State of Qatar. The stadium enjoys a dazzling view of the Gulf coast and the scenic view of skyscrapers in Doha's West Bay across the Gulf waters. The number 974 not only refers to the international calling code for Qatar, but also the number of shipping containers that were used to build the stadium. After the end of the World Cup, the containers and stadium structure will be reused to create facilities overlooking the waterfront for the benefit of the local community, as well as building a vital business center. Stadium 974 made history before hosting its first match, as it was built entirely from shipping containers and independent steel units, and is the first covered football stadium that can be fully disassembled, indicating Qatar's commitment to sustainability, cost-effective construction and modern design. Stadium 974 is a milestone in the design and construction of stadiums, as it was constructed using 974 approved sea freight containers, and the use of prefabricated building components contributed to reducing the time required to complete the stadium. The stadium does not require the cooling technology used in the rest of the World Cup stadiums, as the stadium's unique location on the shores of the Arabian Gulf contributes to providing an unparalleled experience for the fans as if they were in the open air. After dismantling it, there will be 7 stadiums left: Al-Bayt, Lusail, Al-Janoub, Khalifa International, Ahmed bin Ali, Education City, and Al-Thumama. Stadium 974 hosted the first home matches during the 2021 Qatar Arab Cup.
