Muondu is a Certified Internal Quality Assessor, a Certified Internal Auditor and a Certified Information Systems Auditor. Muondu has over 17 years’ international experience in offering, internal audit, risk management, public finance management, public procurement, governance, forensic and strategy solutions to our clients. 

Muondu in-depth experience saw him in 2018 led a team working with the Internal Auditor General of Tanzania to undertake an External Quality Assessment of the Internal Audit Function of 10 selected government agencies in Tanzania. These included i) three (3) Government Ministries i.e., Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism; Ministry of Education; Ministry of Health; ii) four (4) Parastatals i.e., National Health Insurance Fund; Higher Education Students Loan Board; Medical Stores Department; Tanzania Forest Services; and iii three (3) Local Governments i.e., Kigoma Municipal Council; Arusha City Council; and Tanga City Council. The assessment establishment the compliance level to requisite laws and regulations and conformance level to International Internal Auditing Standards.  The assessment established challenges that the internal audit functions were facing making them not comply and/or conform and developed recommendation on how these challenges can be overcome. The recommendations developed were used to develop a capacity building plan for the government institutions assessed.

Muondu in-depth experience in internal auditor in public sector saw him being contracted by the Internal Auditor General, Government of Kenya in 2017 to develop Internal Audit Manual for the County Governments. Muondu facilitated a pilot roll-out of the manual in 5 counties in Kenya i.e., Mombasa, Kisumu, Bungoma, Elgeyo Marakwet and Busia. The roll-out included: sensitizing internal auditors in the 5 counties on using the manual; and undertaking audit engagements based on the manual. The lessons learnt in the pilot roll-out will form a key input in revising the manual before rolling the manual to all the 47 counties.

Muondu has over 8 years’ experience in undertaken Quality Assessment of the internal audit functions for a number of clients including Kenya Power, KenGen, Kenya National Highway Authority (KeNHA), Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA), Retirement Benefits Authority (RBA), Unclaimed Financial Assets Authority and kasneb.  In the private sector Muondu has undertaken EQA for United States International University (USIU) and supported Stima Sacco to undertake an Internal Quality Assessment. Muondu’s experience in undertaking Quality Assessment has seen him being a certified quality assessment trainer for the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).
