Technical and Business Writing

$50/hr Starting at $500

I've been writing for decades, including business, formal and legal documents. It starts with my excellent English grammar (my mother was an English teacher) and my great speed typing (my name on a plaque as fastest typist in high school) and then has been honed by constant writing. As an engineer by background, accuracy and clarity are always a paramount concern. I've written encyclopedias, technical journals, corporate guides, advertising copy, and illustrated manuscripts. I've been published in the United States and in Europe. I've been commissioned to write for Microsoft. I've written corporate guides for IBM, Oracle, Union Pacific Railroad and the Naval Avionics Center. I've won writing contests and presented papers at professional conventions. And I've also written standards documents for clients that were translated into multiple languages. My pet peeve is seeing so many written pieces created by both native English speaking people and foreign sources, with so many grammatical mistakes. Rather than engage the assistance of someone who speaks and writes accurately, they publish results full of errors. And that's not to mention all the people speaking on TV and in person, who are clueless to proper grammar. Such as always saying someone and I, thinking that they're speaking correctly. Of using the term momentarily incorrectly. If you really want confirmation of my skills, send me a short piece that you or someone has written and I'll mark up the errors for you. But rather than waste time with that, let's spend our efforts on what you need done.
