The Case of Secret Documents in America.

$25/hr Starting at $25

Matt Connelly, professor of history at Columbia University, said - in his interview with the "From Washington" program - that protecting state secrets in the United States of America has become a problem in light of the issue of secret documents kept by current President Joe Biden and his predecessor Donald Trump, and is causing widespread controversy in the country. And he considered that Biden and Trump are guilty of keeping the documents because their ownership belongs to the American people and the National Archives, stressing that the problem has existed in American politics for decades, and one of the examples of that is former President Richard Nixon, whose term ended with a scandalous resignation after he kept papers and refused to return them on the pretext that they are personal property. According to US media, about 20 pages of secret documents were found in Biden's possession, the first group of which was discovered in his former office in Washington, DC, and the subsequent groups were found in the garage of his home in Wilmington, all of which date back to the era when he was Vice President Barack Obama. And whether President Biden faces a real danger of conviction against the backdrop of the secret documents issue, the history professor did not rule this out, because the Republicans in Congress talked about a parliamentary trial to impeach the president, and he said that in light of the current state of polarization in the American arena, there may be a long-term investigation to be conducted. It has the Justice Department, Congress, and especially the Republican-controlled House of Representatives. Raed Jarrar of the "Democracy Now Foundation for the Arab World" indicated that there is a moral and legal breach in possession of the secret papers, and this is an indication of political dissension in the United States, especially as it is used as an excuse to fight the other side, stressing that he does not yet know the extent of the danger posed by these documents. Confidentiality, and does it include, for example, dangerous information related to foreign policy.
