This morning, Thursday morning, the mother of the Palestinian detainee, Karim Younes (65 years), from the town of Ara, in the occupied interior, died as a result of her illness.

And local sources reported the death of Hajja Sobhia Younis (Umm Karim), at the age of 90, according to what was reported by the “Arab 48” website.

This comes a few months before the release of the prisoner Younes, who has been in Israeli prisons for nearly 40 years.

He was arrested on January 6, 1983, at the age of 25, during a lecture at Ben-Gurion University in Beersheba in the Negev, while he was studying mechanical engineering, and was sentenced to life imprisonment, which was later determined to be 40 years.

The mother of the dean of Palestinian prisoners was waiting for the next four months to release him after the end of his sentence.

Karim Younis is considered to have the longest continuous sentence of forty years in Israeli prisons.
