Kirill Strimosov, the Russia-appointed official in the Russian-controlled part of Kherson region, said Kyiv's allegations that Russia began mining the Nova Kakhovka Dam were false, according to the RIA news agency.
The Ukrainian authorities confirmed that the cities of Kharkiv and Zaporizhia were subjected to explosions, after the Russian forces intensified their missile strikes on Ukraine, targeting electrical power facilities, in the past few weeks.
Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov said that the missiles targeted an industrial facility in the city, noting that the rescuers had not confirmed any injuries, and had not yet assessed the extent of the damage.
