I received my BA in Communications & Culture from Howard University in Washington, DC. In addition, I have worked in the fields of government, law, and communications. While working in these fields I have operated in several capacities, in which I have not only gained, but also further enhanced the necessary skills that will allow me to be a successful virtual assistant. These capacities include, but are not limited to; (1) As an Insurance Coverage Paralegal I was in constant communication with high level clients in an effort to establish next steps in the litigation process or simply to procure documents in the discovery stage. In addition, I led all aspects of litigation support for insurance carriers such as multinational insurance giant American International Group, Inc. with representation in suits involving: (1) Asbestos, DES, silica, lead paint, Fen-phen, solvents, and other mass tort substances, (2) Environmental issues, (3) Occupational disease, (4) Construction defects, (5) Healthcare related matters, and (6) Concussion litigation involving national sports leagues. (2) As a Regulatory Compliance Associate I was responsible for investigating consumer complaints by issuing subpoenas and reviewing productions of business records, New York Department of State records, and the Federal Trade Commission’s Consumer Sentinel Network to identify bad actors, deceptive trade practices, and non-compliance with federal, state, & local laws. In addition to this I was also responsible for researching and analyzing consumer and business behavior to identify areas where federal, state, and local laws can be strengthened as well as enacted to protect consumers. (3) As the Americans with Disabilities Act Coordinator I was responsible for tracking and maintaining the Agency’s compliance as well as reviewing and responding to all complaints and potential violations of Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act. (4) As a Rules Administrator I was responsible for the publication of all proposed and adopted laws and rules by the Agency and I received, tracked, and responded to all public inquiries and comments on proposed and adopted laws and rules at the direction of the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel. (5) During my time at United States Congress as a Legislative & Communications Liaison Intern I reviewed and researched legislative and policy initiatives that had an impact district wide as well as on a national level relating to immigration, homeland security, international cooperation with North and South American nations, education, and healthcare. As I’ve highlighted above, my experience interfacing with both internal and external parties and providing them with excellent services and results are invaluable to the role you are looking to fill. I have the educational background and professional experience that you are searching for. In addition, I am motivated and enthusiastic, and would appreciate the opportunity to contribute.
