As the editorial director of an independent publisher of business, travel, and children's books (which she co-founded), Robyn McCarthy works with authors on their manuscripts from the initial draft stage through production, overseeing the proofreading and fact-checking by junior editors and coordinating with the production and design team on layout. She previously worked as the managing editor of a trade magazine, a staff writer for a public affairs magazine, and as a freelance journalist (with clips including The Wall Street Journal, the Journal of Commerce,and USA Today). She has also done book indexing and proofreading on a freelance basis and recently finished working with a first-time author on editing his fiction book.
