West London "exciting transformation"

West London set for “exciting transformation” with new 420-home development

Construction has now started at Capital Interchange Way development in Brentford, West London. Once complete, the scheme is set to deliver 420 new homes, 197 of which will be for affordable rent or shared ownership.

As well as providing build-to-rent housing for the area, the joint venture between Telford Homes and Catalyst will also provide 45,000 sq ft of commercial and retail space. It is located close to boutique shopping at Kew Village, Syon Park, and the Royal Botanic Gardens and within walking distance from Chiswick High Street.

The development will have three residential blocks of varying heights, built over a linking podium base that will contain shops with street frontage, and undercroft car and cycle parking. Residents will also have access to outdoor recreational spaces and landscaped gardens.

Brentford is undergoing an “exciting transformation” according to developers, as the area’s creative sector expands and strengthens its cultural offering. In recent years it has seen the completion of Brentford Football Club’s new Community Stadium, bringing in football fans from across the country.

The development will also have rail and road links, making the heart of London “within easy reach”, including direct trains to London Waterloo, Richmond and Stratford from nearby Kew Bridge and Gunnersbury stations. A proposed new transport interchange will also provide direct connections to the upcoming Crossrail and HS2 services.

Philip Jenkins, executive director of development at Peabody, commented: “After much planning, we are pleased to start work on this exciting development with Telford homes. Once complete, Capital Interchange Way will blend seamlessly into Brentford, both adding to and complementing the ongoing regeneration in the area.

“There will be much on offer for future residents – stylish new homes, beautifully landscaped outdoor spaces, and excellent access to nearby shops, transport links and visitor attractions. We look forward to welcoming residents to this fantastic new neighbourhood in 2025.”

Jerome Geoghegan, group land planning director at Telford Homes, added: “Working alongside Catalyst to deliver this project, supplying high-quality affordable housing in a prime location, has been a delight.

“We have spent a long time in the planning process, ensuring that everything is perfect before work commences and we are pleased to see our vision beginning to come to life.

“With excellent transport links, Capital Interchange Way will deliver future buyers a range of exciting amenities, offering a thriving neighbourhood just a stone’s throw away from the development.”
