Young Video Producer

$10/hr Starting at $300

I'm 16, but don't mistake my young age for unprofessionalism. Being the age that I am, some are not willing to put much money into my work. Time and time again I've been pushed to the side as some kid who does know what he's doing. To me, it's frustrating, yet understandable. This is why I focus on having a good relationship with my clients and working to find a price that matches my experience and their willingness to work with someone my age. Admittedly, my experience falls short of many other options, I have nowhere near the amount of gear and resources that someone older and more knowledgeable than me. My biggest mistake as a beginning videographer was simply accepting this, but now I've realized that I can actually use this to my advantage. One of the biggest things you'll hear talked about in a videomaking community is that your gear isn't as important as the operator. I don't have thousands of dollars invested in video equipment, but what I do own gets the job done and it does it well. The same can be said for me. I don't know everything about this business and I'm willing to admit that, but what I do know allows to to produce high quality video at an affordable price point when compared to someone who HAS spent thousands on gear. In a nutshell: I'm young and fairly inexperienced with professional video production. Due to this, I'm able to have FAR lower rates than someone who has more experience and gear.
