About

Aleta Alston-Toure' is a homeschooling mother of two that bears witness as a vessel for social change through community organizing strategies. She has been a speaker internationally.

Aleta Alston Toure is first a visionary documentary filmmaker and book publishing editorial assistant with Blackside Film Productions: Eyes on the Prize Documentary I& II, The Great Depression; The Malcolm X Documentary; War On Poverty and This Far By Faith WGBH/PBS Boston Documentaries respectively.

She is an organizing/ strategic planner starting with Codman Square Neighborhood Development Corporation (CSNDC) as a community organizer/youth director and resident resource.
She started grant writing/fundraising under grants from Massachusetts Housing Financial Agency (MHFA), United Way and City of Boston. Aleta still teaches popular political education through the Universidad Sin Fronteras.
She was a MIT Ford Fellow at the MIT DUSP; she received a grant for the Women's Business Opportunity Program (WBOP) business called Access Development Corporation where she raised funds in her office at the Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Development Corporation (NDC).

She has been a speaker at US universities and colleges across the US including the University of Puerto Rico, and University of Bahia. She is accredited for discussing the African Diaspora and Internationalism/ Globalism as it relates to US social change strategies.

Interfaith Pilgrimage of the Middle Passage; Vida Urbana/City Life; Nationwide Vision Crew: Youth Video Leadership Programs; Elizabeth Stone House Battered Women's Shelter; Women and Housing Economic Development, GIRLS, Inc.; Boston Americorps Pilot Program, The Womens Foundation;Upper Albany Neighborhood Development Corporation; Christian Activities Council; Connecticut Housing Financial Agency (CHFA); Wheeler Clinic Star Program; Birmingham Civil Rights Institute; , Malcolm X Grassroots Movement (Birmingham, AL.); Ash Tree Organization; Mayor's Office of Boston, Ma.; Mayor's Office of Hartford, CT.; Mayor's Office of Birmingham, AL. and the Mayor's Office of Savannah, GA. and several other non-profit organizations.

Work Terms

She is available at least one month prior to engagement. Round trip flights and hotel must be considered for her family and contracts must include a negotiable daily per diem. Prices are discussed on a case by case situation.
