High Quality and Accurate Spanish to English Translations and Proofreading

As a Modern Languages graduate and a native English speaker, I have a high command of grammar, spelling and punctuation, as well as an eye for detail.

Through my degree, I have spent a lot of time reading and writing texts of all kinds, as well as studying grammar across multiple languages. By learning how other languages are formed, I have developed a deeper understanding of my own language.

During the third year of my degree, I studied linguistics, which gave me an insight into morphology and syntax. Additionally, for my final year dissertation, I translated part of a romance novel from European Spanish to British English, through which I learnt more about the novel writing process and specific conventions for romantic fiction.

Since graduating I have been doing volunteer translation work, which has improved my writing skills in American English and helped my time management skills in terms of working to deadlines. Recently I have also completed a Proofreading and Editing Diploma (with Distinction) with the Centre of Excellence.

In my free time, I love reading romance novels — specifically contemporary romance or romantic comedies — therefore these are my specialist genres.

Work Terms

I mainly work weekdays, but am open to weekend work for an extra charge.
