I went from broke Eastern European dude to best-selling author the old-fashioned way: not by hitting it big out of pure luck but by working my you-know-what off, accumulating knowledge and putting that knowledge to good use.
Frankly, I'm probably the most hands-on economist you'll ever come across. I've owned online service businesses, hosting businesses, a digital asset brokerage site, an escrow service, an auction platform and the list could go on and on. Aside from that, I've done quite well as an investor over the years, especially in exotic assets such as domain names and (you've guessed it!) cryptocurrencies.
Right off the bat, I want to make it clear my rates are on the high side.
But you're not paying me just for the time it takes to work on your project, you're also paying me for the time/energy/sanity that was required to be among the best in the world at what I do. You can easily find a consultant who is willing to work at let's say $20 per hour... but:
1) What are his or her credentials, what did he or she accomplish thus far?
2) Do you really think it's a good idea to make potentially life-altering decisions based on advice provided by someone who charges twenty bucks per hour?
... in a nutshell, I walk the proverbial walk, that would be my #1 selling point.
Whether I help you prepare for the next financial crisis, put together a personal finance strategy, start a business and/or create a strong brand, you'll be receiving advice from someone who has actually been successful doing just that rather than a person who is simply regurgitating what he/she read in the past.
Huge, huge difference.
