Arcimedia web agency specialise in creating effective web strategies that attract, engage and ultimately convert visitors into customers.
After a chance discussion on the shores of Lake Como in Italy (it’s true!), the idea of Arcimedia was born. Once the decision to start a business had be made, next came the hard work of developing a brand, honing our coding skills in as many languages as possible, and figuring out how exactly we could leave our current jobs. Evenings and weekends would never be the same.
In 2011 Arcimedia launched with the simple idea of being a friendly and approachable web design agency. After many redrafts of our website and walking many miles to deliver leaflets through people’s letter boxes, the telephone finally began to ring.
In 2012 enthusiasm and momentum reached a new level as we got to grips with producing some great web solutions for a series of new clients. We spent time learning about social media, installing a blog on our own website and learning exactly what a “tweet” was.
This was a good year for Arcimedia, taking on some of our most significant clients as we grew, including West Midlands Fire Service and Mobedia Design Agency. By now we were supporting two full-time employees and looking to expand further.
In 2013 after another full year with lots of new customers, it was obvious that no job we worked on was ever the same. From this, we learnt never to be afraid of trying something new, which is why we made this the year of responsive design to support the rise of mobile phone and tablet usage.
This was also the year we began experimenting with mobile apps on the iOS and Andriod platforms. The future was coming.
2014 was a year of broadening our horizons. Not only did Andy become a father for the first time, but the business also scored a success with a number of new clients. Expanding into ecommerce, bespoke content management systems, and single-page “parallax” designs, things have not stood still.
Taking pride in keeping ourselves abreast of the latest web-tech developments, we also invested in a systems upgrade and have not looked back since!
