Vancouver multimedia journalist Bob Mackin's coverage of sports, business,
and politics has appeared in local, regional, national and international media
outlets since 1990. He put all three together for much of a decade while following
the planning, building, staging and aftermath of the Vancouver 2010 Winter
Olympics as a reporter for Sun Media -- an experience that inspired the e-book,
Red Mittens & Red Ink: The Vancouver Olympics. Bob has covered five Olympic
Games, as well as Pan American and Commonwealth Games, and world
championships spanning several sports. In 2017, he launched theBreaker.news, an
independent breaking news and investigative journalism service focused on the
issues, institutions and influencers of British Columbia.
Bob is the author of five books, and co-author of another three. The four-time B.C.
and Yukon Community Newspaper Award winner has also been honoured with a
Jack Webster Award nomination.
