Greetings! I am a data scientist and R Programmer and it is my mission to extract insight from your data and bring it to life in a clear & meaningful way for you & your customers

I migrated into the world of Data Science after having had a successful career as an Environmental Scientist. I am an R fanatic and develop coding solutions for several scientific and business sectors. I enjoy taking projects from end to end and delivering outcomes with great visualizations and data apps that convey a message or tell a story.

In short… I solve your data puzzles and bring the results and insights to life via R driven reports and Shiny web apps.

Over the last few years I have worked in advanced analytic departments and data mined marketing opportunities with telecommunications data, developed text mining solutions for e-commerce companies and conducted behavioural profiling with cluster analyses for national fast food outlets, to name a few of my most recent endeavours.

I am self-taught R enthusiast and even though R is the lake that I swim in, I have also had several occasions to develop end to end solutions in python, SAS and DS2.

I am also an analytically minded person…and I am going to ask the right questions of your data and apply the appropriate analytical techniques.

I am also an acutely business minded person and understand how critical it is to present back analytically generated results to business teams in business vernacular.

I enjoy the foundational steps of data wrangling and I am particularly interested in sentiment analysis, geo-spatial data science projects and R training.

Work Terms

I am Scottish… however I live in the beautiful city of Cape Town, South Africa.

I am not constrained by a 9 to 5 daily regime and am happy to provide flexible working arrangements to suit most time zones.

I am also happy to communicate across any standard medium be it email, phone, Zoom or Skype, etc… or work collaboratively in an online team forum.
