I'm a 29 year old Social Anthropologist from the Netherlands, located half of the year in Quito, Ecuador, and the other half of the year in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
As a researcher and a digital nomad I have been active in many fields, but I'm particularly passionate about Social Sciences. As a trained Social-Anthropologist (MSc.) I have done research to nationalism, citizenship, identity and belonging in Sarajevo (Bosnia-Herzegovina), Quito (Ecuador) and Amsterdam (the Netherlands).
My studies contained a 6 months ethnographic research in Sarajevo, where I explored the ways in which young people are dealing with official nationalism and identity politics, especially when they did not agree with the existing system and the forced categories of identification. During my studies I have worked as a B2B Telecom adviser and representative for a major Dutch company (KPN), and hence generated a lot of knowledge on Telecommunication, especially Internet and VoIP-solutions.
Besides these experiences I have been working as an assistant policy researcher and adviser for the University of Amsterdam, on behalf of the Democratization and Decentralization Committee. This committee had the objective to report and analyse discontents with the current governance structures of the University and to design and propose new policies and new governance models. This project included qualitative and quantitative research, rethinking an organisational structure of a big semi-public institute; The University of Amsterdam. Besides the research and reporting, it entailed translating the committee's output (Dutch - English) and administering the committee's budget ($700.000)
Besides my passion for Social Sciences, Research, Writing and Education, I have a passion for politics, languages, literature, traveling, cooking, sailing, history and geography.
Work Terms
I'm available for work on weekdays between 09.30 - 19.00 Eastern Standard Time. Other hours are possible as well, but on agreement. Depending on the type of job the required payment will vary, starting from $11,- gross. Communication is possible via this forum, email, Skype and Whatsapp. Communication via phone is only possible for incoming calls and/or when the costs are covered. Payment can be monthly, weekly or on project-base, but always in consultation.
Regarding my ethics, I will not accept work enabling child-exploitation, sexual-exploitation, human-trafficking, violence, serious environmental dammage or animal-harm
