My mission is to provide fast, dependable service and to put my customer's needs first.

I have over 27 years of Human Resources experience in the Federal Government. During the last eight years, I was employed as a Benefits Specialist with the Department of Veterans Affairs and retired in February 2016. My duties included the following:
.•Subject matter expert in providing counseling and guidance to employees regarding benefits such as health insurance, life insurance, retirement, disability retirement, death benefits, and Thrift Saving Plan (TSP).
•Performed extensive research and gained a thorough knowledge of the rules and regulations of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and VA Central Office.
•Counseled employees and spouses of deceased employees on the death benefits to which they were entitled.
•Constant verbal and written communication with managers, employees, union officials, OPM, and Central Office.

I was also employed as an Injury Compensation Specialist which included the following:
•Independent case management of the workers’ compensation program for employees who were injured on the job.
•Processed claims and coordinated the cases with employees’ supervisors, the Department of Labor and other Federal agencies in order to adequately monitor the injury compensation program.
•Reviewed and analyzed medical documentation to ensure that it met the requirement of the program.
•Constant communication with the employees’ physicians was necessary to make sure that the most current medical information and work restrictions had been received in order to assist the employee with returning to duty whether it was a return to light duty with restrictions or to regular duty; thereby, cutting costs to the medical center.
•Provided concise technical advice to both the supervisors and employees regarding their rights and obligations under the Federal Employees’ Compensation Act.
•Served on the Accident Review Board to review the types of injuries occurring and provided recommendations to the Agency if the injuries were safety related.

Work Terms

I would be available during the hours of 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Payment terms - $20 per hour. I preferred to be contacted by email.
