My name is Elsan Salkovic. I am an experienced translator/interpreter, working with the German and English languages. I have a master’s degree in German language and literature, from the the Philosophical University of Niksic, Montenegro. My native language is Serbian, but I have a near-native level of knowledge of both German and English, both of which I have studied at the University. I have also lived in Germany for five years, in the city of Konstanz, which has helped me familiarize myself with several German dialects. I am also quite willing to provide a sample demonstration of my skills, if necessary.
I am now seeking an opportunity to use my skills within a professional business context, either as a freelancer, or working on a more permanent basis with established businesses. My working background includes a brief period serving as High school teacher of German at the local High school in my hometown of Bijelo Polje, followed by internship at the Porta Aperta institute of foreign languages in the capital city Podgorica from 2010 to 2012. From 2012 to 2014 I have worked with the local news station in my hometown Sun News, providing translation services for their global news section. Afterwards I have mainly participated in freelance translations, written and simultaneous for individuals or businesses, and I am now looking to expand my experience on an international market.
I am a hard-working, responsible individual, and I love languages, as well as expanding my vocabulary. I was drawn to translation because of the need to constantly expand one’s horizon and understanding if one is to remain a competent translator. My fields of specialization are information technologies and science, which includes medicine. I have also experience with business translation, Economy, Art and litterature and philosophy.

Work Terms

I work on a "as needed" basis, and don't have fixed working hours. My rates are: 0.03 $ per word, and 10 $ per hour.
