About

JD taking Texas Bar in July - Looking for work in meantime

Hello,
I am a law school graduate with significant law firm experience, specifically in insurance defense and construction litigation. I just moved from New Orleans to Austin.
I received my JD from Loyola, where I studied both Civil Law and Common Law curricula. I am taking the Texas Bar in July and want to work in the meantime in order to stay sharp, gain experience and possibly find a firm with the potential for a long-term, future relationship. I believe that what I may lack in long-term experience is more than made up for by my education, motivation, and ability to learn on the fly. I graduated at the top of my class and I was a member of the Loyola Law Review. I am highly motivated, exceptionally organized and I have
prior experience in a litigation environment involving trial preparation; I pay particular attention to detail and have excellent written and oral communication skills,as well as strong problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise independent judgment.

Work Terms

Additionally, I am a thorough,detail-oriented researcher and I am able to synthesize and summarize complex legal information into useful form. Most importantly, I am able to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment with a heavy
caseload. Finally, I am tech-savvy, and have excellent references, a polished appearance, a great sense of humor and a professional demeanor. Regarding salary, I would be comfortable with $55-65k; that would allow me to pay my bills and my ridiculously high student loans; however, I am open to discussion regarding compensation. I am interested in speaking with you about a position as a researcher/analyst/writer (basically a summer clerkship for a graduate) with the possibility of proving myself in order to secure a permanent position after I pass the bar in July.Frankly, I just want to work. Please contact me so we can discuss how I can meet your needs as an associate. Please see my attached resume.
Cheers,
Gavin Rush
