I am 35 years old and a MBA graduate from the Graduate School of Business at the University of Cape Town and the Red McCombs School of Business in Austin. I hold over +10 years in project management, corporate finance and owning and operating a SME.
I have recently been a shareholder and Chief Operations Officer of Double Horn Brewing located in Austin, Texas. I was instrumental in the acquisition of the brewery in 2016 leading the valuation and due diligence processes. I was responsible for the daily operations of the brewery and implementing the distribution strategy to further penetrate the craft beer industry in Central Texas. We successfully sold the brewery and business in March 2019 and I have relocated to Atlanta with my wife, Melanie.
Prior to my MBA I gained a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a concentration in financial management and accounting. The focus of my MBA studies was predominantly finance and entrepreneurship. Additionally, I have had extensive exposure to strategy, marketing and consumer behavior while completing my thesis.
My career began as Project Manager for a family owned business supplying corporate office equipment and then as a Procurement Manager in the fast moving consumer goods industry. I gained my core work experience at Grant Thornton Advisory Services in the Corporate Finance division where I engaged in due diligence, valuations and M&A transactions at a manager level.
My corporate finance industry experience includes: security, financial services, retail, mining, media, pharmaceuticals, property, prepared foods and fast moving goods, telecommunications and manufacturing. I have also been involved in cross boarder due diligence and valuation engagements in Brazil, Bulgaria, France, Australia, Canada, India and the UK.
