About

A Pragmatic, Results-Oriented 40 year veteran of the IT Industry.

I have spent over 40 years of my working life in global IT/Business Management and Management Consultancies, which means I have spent countless hours writing, reviewing, re-writing, proofreading and generally dealing with reports, tenders, proposals, memos and all sorts of technical and business material. I also write for my own personal blog if something interests or incenses me. I currently write regularly for several Upwork and other clients.

I have been running my own IT/Management Consultancy since 1997. I operate in Interim and contract-based positions in companies that need temporary ICT executive-level assistance, either because of a turn-around requirement, to provide cover while a recruitment process is underway, or to manage a specific project.

Most recently, I completed an assignment as an Interim ICT Director and part-time ICT lecturer in an Ethiopian University. My main project was the $25Million design and installation of a new state-of-the-art multi-campus network, covering hardware, software and ancillary support services such as a solar power installation. The ICT department was also to be completely restructured. I had full management and budget responsibility, reporting directly to the President of the University.

I have been writing regular articles on business and IT technical topics to be published on various blogs for Upwork clients each month for several years, supplemented by one-off assignments as they arise.

I have been everything from an R&D programmer to applications programmer to DP Manager to IT salesman, to ICT Bid Manager, to IT Director of two Universities in the Eastern Cape of SA. For my own company start-up, I worked as an out-and-out techie selling, installing and supporting PC and SMME network hardware and software.

My employment history includes University ICT Directorships and world-wide consulting assignments for major consultancies.

I am in the GMT+2 timezone. I prefer to be paid via the escrow system.
