My name is João Caro de Sousa, and I recently completed INSEAD´s MBA Program.
I believe that considering my personal and academic background, as well as my professional experience, I can deliver an outstanding project. The technical competencies required by the assignment are directly in line with my five-year professional experience at one of the largest Asset Managers in Portugal, where I started as an Equity Analyst and later managed an Investment Fund focused on African equities. Currently I am a Portfolio Manager of a Long-Short Investment Fund focused on Brazilian Assets, the best performing Fund sold in Portugal (domestic and international) in 2016 – with an annualized return of 73.62%.
My background provides me with a unique knowledge of financial modeling, DCF and company valuation models, aligned with a notion of cost accounting, use of funds for growth, liquidity needs and sensitivity analysis. If need be I can send you some more examples of DCF models I have produced. Additionally I worked 1.5 years as a
Management Consultant at Deloitte. At Deloitte I produced and audited several strategic business plans, market assessments and investment cases, reports & presentations. Moreover, I have produced and reviewed several startup business and financial plans. I have had 2 different profitable businesses and to both I developed complex business and financial plans and pitch decks.
At the moment I am also the CFO of a HealthCare venture backed by a VC called Working Minds. Additionally I am the Founder of a Company that helps Startups to develop a Business Plan and raise capital.
