About

I'm a user centric front-end developer with a keen aesthetic eye. I've been in the industry since 2002 building rich web interfaces.

I have a background in graphic design which led me to an interest in 3d animation which, believe it or not, led to an internship in 2002 at a small web agency called Turning Minds Media. That internship led to a job offer which brings me to where I am today with nearly 13 years of experience in front-end web development. I moved to Washington, DC in 2006 and took a job at a financial services company as the senior web designer but over the next few years i became more interested, mostly out of necessity, in writing code. HTML and CSS led to jQuery which led to, in a reverse sort of way, an interest in native javascript. I became worried that if i stayed in this small embedded and somewhat comfy financial services job, I wouldn't grow as a developer and i'd be painting myself into a corner career wise so I applied at a real web agency in 2011 called Navigation Arts. They hired me on the spot. At Navigation Arts I got to work on all kinds of great projects from converting flash applications over to HTML/CSS and JS, to animation projects and iPad and iPhone apps. I learned about AngularJS and other frameworks really got to dig deep into front-end development. I left Navigation Arts in 2014 for another agency closer into the city and to my apartment and thats where I am today. Still doing front-end work and loving it.
