Licensed attorney available for legal consultation, research, and writing
I am looking for remote legal research and writing, document review, or legal transcription. Willing to negotiate on rates, and am happy to send a full resume. I have a history of working under pressure, so that means my clients can expect a professional experience with plenty of communication and no hassle. Currently an expat living abroad, which means I have all the time needed to focus on quality and timely product.
Recently finished a 3 1/2 year stretch at the Louisville Metro Public Defender as an Assistant Public Defender/Trial Attorney. This included all matters of criminal litigation, including but not limited to both felony and misdemeanor trials, parole and probation revocation hearings, negotiating plea agreements, and appearing on an average of 7-10 criminal matters per day. Most importantly, client contact and communication were the focus of my practice.
I moved to Lilongwe, Malawi, at the end of February 2015, as my partner accepted a teaching position here. I have reliable internet access, and may be available by Skype or phone (international number) if needed.
My expertise is primarily criminal law, but spent time during law school clerking for the U.S. Attorney's office in Minneapolis and had the opportunity to work on a number of civil matters as well. Additionally, my marks were consistently high throughout law school in all subjects, including Family Law, Wills, Trusts and Estates, Evidence, and Health Law
