I've been proofreading documents and books for years now. While I've always loved creative writing, it has always been a pleasure to see the topics and ideas of others and assist in ensuring a professional, clean finished product. The feeling of completion shared by myself and the client results in excitement for future projects, and builds a lasting relationship. My proofreading began in high school, when an author asked if I would be interested in being a first line of defense before sending her book to the editors. Ever since then I have been absolutely in love with proof reading documents. Whether it be a book, a school paper, news article, whatever the document may be, I am more than willing to dive headfirst into each project with enthusiasm as I scan for mistakes, search for consistency, and delve into the entirety of the piece to guarantee a smoothly flowing finished product.
A bookworm in school, my knack for catching errors began when a high school teacher offered prize incentives for students who could find published material with mistakes. I was the only student who already knew several pieces of work that had been shoved through publishing without much of a second glance through the material. Since that day, I've been requested time again by a science fiction author, and an adult romance author to proofread their materials, leaving my efforts to show in real world examples.
I have just started in the transcription field. I have studied into the different formats for transcription and recognize the difference between full verbatim and clean verbatim, can use time stamping and speaker identification (when it is provided).
Work Terms
My "office" hours are from 8:30 AM to 5 PM on each day of the week, however, I will check for messages outside of those hours as well. Each project will vary somewhat in price, as the length of the project, size of the file, and hours needed for completion will be different for everyone. I accept PayPal and Venmo, and payment will be required before I send the finished project back toyou.
