Although it is not the field I imagined myself in, I do feel that working in a health care environment has taught me many skills, which have helped me become an asset to whoever I work with. I currently work at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre where I work through the Web & Digital Innovations department to collaborate with various departments and successfully execute multimedia support dependent on each projects specific needs. Dealing with clients and engaging departments in a creative manner has helped drive projects forward and taught me how to become a better leader. I’ve learned professional skills of communications management while still ensuring I have successfully delivered on the clients’ needs.
I graduated from Ryerson University in the film studies program and focused my skill set on post-production work though I have abilities in videography and production. I feel like my background has allowed me to apply a creative set of eyes to a professional setting. I believe that I have proven myself a very malleable individual and employee who has learned to not only adapt but excel in new and challenging tasks which has broadened my skill-set.
While still working full time, I have had opportunities volunteering, most recently working for IABC (International Association of Business Communicators) Toronto as the director of multimedia and producing videos for them. Additionally I have had the opportunity to work as a freelance Digital Contributor for the 519 Community Centre in Toronto, most recently completing a multi-piece video set for the anti-homophobic and transphobic language campaign, Hear It! Stop It!.
I have been fortunate to see my ideas come to fruition, presented and positively received by participants at conferences, committees and online audiences. I am a driven, hard-working and creative individual who brings 100% to the table at all times and am always willing to work hard at everything I am asked to do.
Work Terms
I work around the clock if I ever need to. If a job needs to get done, I won't stop until it is. I'm always easily accessible by e-mail and usually work best on an online basis. I have done many editing projects using share software like Dropbox to work with the client to share clips, and any additional required documentation.
