Innovative Digital Marketing Strategist Who Gets “IT”
I have been writing and editing since I could pick up a No. 2 pencil. Some of the earliest “assignments” I tackled included serving as “Dear Abby” for her fifth-grade class newsletter; co-editor of her high school newspaper; and as city hall beat reporter/night editor for the former daily newspaper, The Pasadena Citizen. From there, I served as editor for The Woodlands Villager, a weekly newspaper that had multiple, feature-filled sections, prior to taking a job with The Houston Chronicle, where she wrote more than 1,000 articles on events and issues important to residents and business owners in Harris and Montgomery counties.
Before launching my career in journalism, I worked in marketing, public relations and publishing in Houston and Hong Kong. While living in Hong Kong, I wrote, edited and marketed a full-color magazine for a prominent American business and social networking organization, and worked as a freelance writer and editor for several Hong Kong publishing companies and magazines.
I recently launched SpaceKat Digital Strategies, a company that specializes in the creation of custom digital marketing strategies for businesses and entrepreneurs designed to boost their online presence and increase their community of engaged supporters/customers. Each digital marketing plan is a blend of website content, digital tools and social platforms that tells the story of why the business is unique and what sets it apart from its competition. SpaceKat also supports clients through a broad spectrum of services, including social media strategy and implementation, website design, email marketing campaign strategy and implementation, public relations, media relations, internal and external communications, issues and subject matter research; and a variety of writing and editing products, including hard news, features, blogs/vlogs, web copy, press releases, speeches, editorials, advertising copy, product descriptions, technical articles, and communication plans.
